Calling Dying Light 2 a bad game sends the message that there is something here that is either fundamentally unsatisfying in a way that ensures we never want to see it again or something that is. With my experience I can make a new save, join a high level player on the hardest difficulty, and still manage. It's funny to watch them stuggle and fail to kill 1 low level zombie. I've joined noobs plenty, and pretty much just take out any overwhelming forces/crowds of zombies with ease so they can focus on a few enemies safely. ![]() The game doesn't go out of it's way to punish a low level player joining a higher level, or a high level joining a noob. He will however keep any skill points/items/weapons he grabs. The problem would be that they stay at their story progression as the missions won't save for him since he hasn't unlocked them yet. If a low level joins a higher level he may have difficulty keeping up due to the lower weapons/skills, but it's still playable. If you have a buddy, it's recommended to wait so both of you get your story progression saved together. We do encourage original content, however. You're also infected right off the bat, so you can't exactly tell the rebels to go fuck themselves, but maybe you get the option past the initial stages. On your way there you have the asscreed package of distractions to entertain yourself. This, on the other hand, seems like a more story-driven approach i.e go to quest marker on the other side of town, watch a cutscene, go back to base. Presentation was indeed your average hack&slash / mmo garbage fill your log with shit, go to a main objective while keeping an eye on your shopping list, head back and collect. The quests actually made a lot of sense in the setting, in being about hunting for necessities for survival, helping people find their loved ones, exploring infested shitholes and stuff like that. ![]() Dead island's system got boring pretty damn fast, but I do wonder if that was all in the quests and not more to do with the lackluster level design and the game's overall aspiration to be a Diablo clone. ![]()
